The 1st of June will be remembered in Amsterdam for two things: Adele her first concert in concert venue the Ziggo Dome and for the grand opening party of Jaz in the City. All visitors afterwards agreed that the Grand opening was a night to remember and the cherish.
At the end of the day the first guest showed up for the party and Rhythms Bar&Kitchen was getting busier and busier, when Mr. Chhatwal (CEO Steigenberger Hotel Group) took the microphone: “Today is a great day. It is the day that we welcome Jaz Amsterdam officially to the Steigenberger family and since the soft opening in November 2015 the team of Jaz Amsterdam did an outstanding performance”. After these nice words, Mr. Chhatwal kindly asked all visitors to follow him outside. Once outside the sounds of construction workers arose. But the hotel was already open, right? The whole happening turned out to be a big flash mob stunt when all construction workers together formed a beat and the DJ and dancers appeared. Jaz in the City opened literally and figuratively with a Big Bang!
(Fedde Le) Grand Opening
After the spectacular opening on the Ziggo Dome Square all guest where guided inside and welcomed with a glass of champagne. The party was started. And if the vibe was not right already, DJ trio Men&Cherry (including singer and saxophone player) would certainly do the job. Also the food was in abundance. Fresh sushi, perfectly grilled meat and crème brullee made for your eyes, all was present. Amsterdam based DJ Covergirl Sunny got the crowd ready for the main act of the evening. Band Leader of Jaz Amsterdam Joost van Beek took the mic and announced one of the Netherlands biggest DJ: Fedde Le Grand! A month ago this DJ played for a sold out Ziggo Dome and know he was impressing this crowd with his amazing DJ skills. The Grand opening turned in the Fedde Le Grand Opening!
It was an evening where everything seemed right. Of course we could not have done this alone, so hereby we would love to thank everyone who helped making this evening a success.
