Once in a while you just need to be with the guys. Just doing guys stuff and talk about guy things. Drink some beer and eat a juicy burger with your hands. No better activity on days like those then a day at the stadium.
Founded on the 18th of March 1900 you can easily say Ajax has a history and a rich history it is. Just to give an example: Ajax is one of only four clubs to have won all three major European trophies, the others being Juventus, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich. Their home is the Johan Cruijiff ArenA, with 53.502 seats the biggest stadium of The Netherlands. In need of more facts? The Johan Cruijiff ArenA is approximately a 100 meter walk from Rhythms Bar&Kitchen, the restaurant of Jaz Amsterdam.
Waking up on a Sunday morning knowing you are going to the game always brings a nice tension. We gathered at a friend’s house to start with a small beer but after a heavy Saturday night the beer turned into tea. Of course served from an Ajax mug. After a nice cup of tea we took the metro to the Johan Cruijiff ArenA. A true plus of Amsterdam zuidoost and the Johan Cruijiff ArenA is its accessibility. Under 15 minutes we were at the stadium. Let’s go!
AJAX – N.E.C
The opponent was N.E.C from the city of Nijmegen. Number 15 in the ranking, so it shouldn’t be a problem for Ajax (the current number 2). Via Jaz Amsterdam we had awesome places in the stadium (image 2) and the vibe in the stadium was getting good. Little did we know we were in for a treat. The first 45 minutes of the game were a spectacle. The striker of Ajax (Kasper Dollberg) scored a proper hat trick.
In the second half Ajax gave us two more reason to cheer and after 90 minutes 5-0 was a fact.
A good game makes a man hungry!
We took the 100 meter walk to Rhythms Bar&Kitchen and sat down in one of the booths. The order? Simple: 3 times the Rhythms Burger plus 3 Rhythms Beer.
A good game of football and afterwards a burger and beer in Rhythms Bar&Kitchen – the perfect day out. For tourist or local.
